Description
A first of its kind.
The Artisanal tea rod, is a nod back to the ancient method of Tea making. That was exclusively done by hand.
These rods are made by a small newly established tea maker in southern Sri Lanka. The leaf is left to grow on the bush for up to seven days. The tender two leaves and a bud are hand picked and then hand rolled to carefully extra the concentrated flavours that our found in the leaf.
It is then hand tied and left to partially oxidise.
Each rod can be brewed up to three times, and makes the perfect after dinner treat.
Notes of maple are present in the first infusion, a lighter honeyed note is found in the second and heather in the third.
The tea rod is a true connoisseurs choice tea and should be enjoyed plain without milk. —
