The Artisanal tea rod is the first of its kind and a celebration of the ancient methods of hand made tea.
A true connoisseurs choice and should be enjoyed plain without milk.
These rods are made by a small newly established tea maker in southern Sri Lanka.
The leaf is left to grow on the bush for up to seven days. Then two tender leaves and a bud are hand picked and rolled by hand to carefully extract the concentrated flavours found in the leaf. Finally it is hand tied and left to partially oxidise.
Each rod can be brewed up to three times, and makes the perfect after dinner treat.
Notes of maple are present in the first infusion, a lighter honeyed note is found in the second and heather in the third.
